Overview

Clipboard Pro+ helps you save copied text, organize important clips, and reuse them from the main app, keyboard extension, and share extension.

Getting Started on iPhone and iPad

  1. Open Clipboard Pro+ and finish onboarding.
  2. In Settings, make sure clipboard tracking is enabled.
  3. Copy text while the app is active to build your History list.
  4. Pin important clips to Favorites for faster reuse.

Mac Companion

The Mac companion requires macOS 15.4 or later. Purchase or restore the same Premium subscription used on iPhone and iPad.

  1. Open the app and choose whether to enable capture, iCloud sync, and launch at login. Each choice is separate.
  2. In Settings, use Enable Clipboard Access and choose Always Allow in the system clipboard prompt to permit automatic capture. Polling never repeatedly requests permission.
  3. Copy text or links in another app. Capture continues while the search panel is closed, and pauses during sleep, lock, and inactive user sessions.
  4. Open Search from the menu bar or press Command+Shift+Space. Use arrows to select a clip, then press Return or Command+1–9 to copy the selected or numbered result.
  5. Paste the copied clip manually in the destination app with Command+V.

Pause Capture from the menu bar. Resume starts with a fresh clipboard baseline; content copied while paused is not imported. Use Choose App under Excluded Apps to skip capture from selected apps. Concealed and transient clipboard entries are ignored. Search covers text, links, tags, and synced AI titles. Mac supports tag editing; text editing, Smart Collections, and AI tools remain on iPhone and iPad.

Change the global shortcut in Settings if it conflicts with another app. Closing search leaves the companion running; reopen the app to reach search if its menu-bar icon is hidden. Quit from the menu to stop the companion.

iCloud, Retention, and Upgrades

Use the same Apple Account for iCloud on every device and enable iCloud Sync in app Settings. Open the app on each device and use Sync Now when needed. Apple schedules background sync opportunistically; immediate delivery is not guaranteed. Clipboard Pro+ does not verify Premium through iCloud; use Restore Purchases for the Apple Account that bought the subscription.

Premium defaults to 10,000 clips. Choose 200, 1,000, 5,000, or 10,000 in Settings. The limit syncs across devices. Lowering it previews removals and requires confirmation. Oldest unpinned clips are removed first; Favorites count toward the limit and are protected. If Favorites fill the limit, unpin or delete a clip to resume capture. Offline devices can temporarily exceed the limit until a successful merge.

After Premium expires, Mac capture and sync stop. Saved data remains available for Mac search, manual copy, and deletion. iPhone and iPad expose 20 free items without deleting the larger archive. Keyboard snapshots remain limited to 50 items per source, with existing free keyboard limits unchanged.

This release migrates older local JSON and iCloud snapshots into the new library. A local migration backup is retained. All devices must update to join the new sync system; older versions no longer exchange changes with updated devices. Switching iCloud accounts opens a separate cached library and never transfers the previous account’s history into the new one.

Keyboard Extension

How to enable it:

  1. Open iOS Settings.
  2. Go to General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard.
  3. Add Clipboard Pro+ Keyboard.
  4. If you want the keyboard to show saved clips, open the keyboard settings and turn on Allow Full Access.

Notes:

  • The keyboard can be selected without Full Access, but saved clips require Full Access to appear.
  • Full Access is required only for reading and updating the shared saved-clip lists.
  • Free users can see up to 5 History items in the keyboard.
  • Premium unlocks additional keyboard sources such as Favorites and Recently Copied.

Share Extension

How to use it:

  1. Select text or open a web page in another app.
  2. Tap the system Share button.
  3. Choose Share to Clipboard Pro+.
  4. Save the shared item.

Notes:

  • Free users can save the first shared item.
  • Premium unlocks full multi-item import.

AI Tools on iPhone and iPad

With Premium, supported iPhone and iPad devices can analyze a saved text clip to make a short summary, suggest a smart title and tags, or rewrite the text in a chosen style. The AI tools use Apple's on-device Foundation Models; Clipboard Pro+ does not send your clip to a developer-operated AI service.

AI tools require iOS or iPadOS 26 or later, compatible Apple Intelligence hardware, Apple Intelligence enabled, and a ready local model. They are available on iPhone and iPad; the Mac app can search synced AI titles and metadata but does not run AI analysis itself.

Premium And Purchases

Premium unlocks:

  • One verified Premium subscription across Mac, iPhone, and iPad
  • Up to 10,000 saved history items, including Favorites
  • Mac background capture and tag editing
  • Smart Collections
  • Custom tags
  • iCloud sync
  • Expanded keyboard sources
  • Full multi-item share import

Purchase help:

  • Open the main app after purchase or restore so Premium state refreshes for the extensions.
  • Use Restore Purchases from Settings if an active subscription does not appear.
  • Use Manage Subscription from Settings to review or cancel your plan.

Troubleshooting

Clipboard history is not updating:

  • On iPhone and iPad, keep the main app active. iOS does not allow continuous background clipboard capture.
  • On Mac, check Premium, Pause Capture, clipboard access, and excluded apps in Settings.
  • Make sure clipboard tracking is enabled in Settings.

The keyboard does not show saved clips:

  • Confirm Allow Full Access is enabled for Clipboard Pro+ Keyboard.
  • Make sure the main app has at least one saved history item.
  • Open the main app once after installing or restoring purchases.

Shared content does not appear in History:

  • Open the main app once so the app-group storage is ready.
  • Try sharing plain text or a web URL again.

Premium features are still locked:

  • Tap Restore Purchases.
  • Re-open the main app and then retry the keyboard or share extension.
